Propaganda : Keeping the Blinders On

Many are storm tossed and driven by the emotional waves,  adrift on a sea of media.
It takes an objective perspective to see things clearly, and an inner strength to navigate the storm.

...and you can't really blame the masses for their blindness,

Bombarded by trigger words in artful speeches, tailored to snatch the attention, engage the emotions and lead them down a hall of predetermined associations, and heightened sensations as we cheer the gladiator matches in Debate and Wrestling in the AM and PM, respectively.

...as the designers are all so good at what they do.

How dare you see clearly!
It can be so hard to see through the fog, and laborious a task to stick to your guns, but as you stand firm in the pursuit of what's true,  you learn to move past the monkeys slinging insults at the Zoo.

Today I had the rare honor and privilege to meet a Christian Chaldean  who escaped from Iran.

The funny thing is,  whenever she tries to tell people about her experience of the life and ideology she fled,  she finds herself labelled a Racist and Islamophobe.  Christian Chaldeans,  I was excited to learn, are a rare surviving indigenous people group of what was once a Christian Middle East.

So,  here we have a traditional legal immigrant,  appreciative of the freedom she finds under the flag of a Christian nation,  and when she tries to share her reasons for Thanksgiving, to tell of the differences of her former life,   people rush in their confusion to silence her.   The Truth of her life conflicts with the propaganda of the worldly media.

Propaganda Programs your Triggers and Responses

Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.
Matt 15:14

The Lord works in mysterious ways, and I am still marveling at our chance meeting this morning.

She smiled brightly: "I really like your cross.  I like crosses too.  "  as she gestured towards her own.

Now I know that in our society,  we are placing less emphasis on the symbol of the cross.  Many wear it tucked away and some don't even bother, for fear of offense.  Yet  this Christian woman was uplifted and brightened by the visible symbol, in clear view, on my person.   When she talked of how threatened,  pained and violated she felt when she was ordered to remove it,  to keep her job,  in Iran,   I felt it a personal duty,  and a privileged, to keep my Savior on display.

I now have a friend who has intimate knowledge of the ideology and Spirit of Islam,  has grown up under the fear and tyranny of their hateful ideology, knows and sees the values they place on women and how they burden their wives to populate for takeover (20-30 kids per wife).

We had a long and thoughtful conversation, and the brightness of her spirit spoke volumes to me.   This is a Christian who was living a life in thanksgiving to God, and no doubt the Lord shines through her brilliantly.

To anyone still wearing those fashionable Blinders, of "Progressive-ism" and "Multiculturalism" and an all accepting wide-eyed world view,  I would encourage you to take off your sunglasses at night.   Check your prescription and make sure they aren't emotionally led into a false caricature of what a people or an idea is, but that you form your ideas based on Truth.

Islam means Submit

I really look forward to talking with her again. . .
Hopefully there will be much more to come!
